We've only got a few more hours of absolutely top/prime/beeyoutiful laundry drying weather before the storms set in. Get out of bed and make the most of it you lazy mongrels.

I have finished my last uni assignment. Hopefully enough to pass the unit, I really didn't put much effort into it, I've completely lost interest!
It's a terrible day to choose to have the oven on, but I have lamb roast for dinner & can now play games for the rest of the day guilt free. Horizon Zero Dawn here I come.

Yeah, I'm tryna kick a cert3 over the line with as little effort as possible.

That 3 km walk in bad boots last week really fucked up my back, I was nearly in tears by the time i got home. Had to rest up a lot this. :(
On a positive note I have improved my PT exercises. :)

too scared to even try the boots with the new cushions ,
on a positive note I have 2 pairs of hiking sandals for warm weather
not snek proof tho and where I walk has many sneks , not that I have seen any, will use sandals and stomp around
3
melbaboutown - 1mon
Yeah thatโs sensible. Boot cushions can be tried around the house first if youโre ever ready? Though I wouldnโt blame you for sticking to sandals/sneakers forever
I thought it was going to be worse, but I rallied a bit at the end

4
TheWitchofThornbury2 - 1mon
Maybe windy.com ? link I use that for radar - its sooo much better cos easily scrollable and you get a 1 hour replay. BOM is still good for forecasts etc. I reckon.
3
PeelerSheila - 1mon
The witch is right, I use the Windy app. I gave up on the BOM years ago because I got sick of it bricking my phone all the time.

Work funded trip to the museum today as well. It's meant to be a hot one so good timing. I wonder if we'll get a seat at the star wars cafe

There was the reef thing upstairs and the elephant.
We didn't make it to the Lego Star Wars section but that's alright because they didn't scan our tickets and we got Enter Whenever tickets valid until the end of January, so we can still go in free another time

Starting to digitise me vinyl. Most of it is sort of 1998-2004 electronic.
But ran into a 1962 recording (so 63yr old record!) of a memorial concert thing my ol' boy has from his old school. Pretty impressive they could fit 58 minutes on a single record. Thought it was going to be a bunch of kids making shit noises but it was actually very very polished (and very professionally recorded). The funny thing is that they overdubbed applause after each song, like canned laughter, but seriously over the top clapping lol and it's the same sample every time.
So I'm going to sample it and try and chuck it in a choon I think to keep that energy alive today.

That's gotta be one of the top ten haunting songs ever written. That and his Alabama. Remember listening to it for the first time when the Harvest album came out - socked me in the guts then and still does now.
8
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 1mon
The first time I ever heard that song I was deep in the old life and it absolutely destroyed me. I learned it but couldn't bring myself to perform it.
I feel like after all these years its OK to play it again.
3
TheWitchofThornbury2 - 1mon
Yeah, feels. Maybe think of it as a Rite of Passage - a ceremony that shuts the door on an old life and opens the door to a new one. Traditionally accompanied by much music and good food and celebrations in general. An open mike seems to me to be a suitable venue. Let us here know when and we'll come and celebrate with you.
5

I don't know if it's the antivirals or just my body doing its thing, but I'm actually feeling a lot better! My fever is gone (even though this weather is making me think it's still there) and I'm still a bit tired, but more or less fine! I think I will be able to properly get out of bed today, my biggest achievement all week :)

So the water on the Bellarine gradually rusts out moka pots no matter what it seems. What would be the next best coffee creator? Not a fan of plunger, and pods are pretty wrong for the environment. I was thinking a American style percolator but that's probably going to be pretty unsatisfactory....
5

Aluminium moka?
3
Seagoon_ - 1mon
a percolator will be fine, just clean out the water tank and pots regularly

Filter coffee with reuseable basket instead of using paper filters (the paper absorbs a lot of the oils from the coffee). Gold plated basket is best, not nylon. I've found they do a good job for a larger batch.
Yeah, bit difficult when there's a few people though. I've been using a 12 cup moka.
1
SaneMartigan - 1mon
I've got an old aluminium 12 cup Moka^tm you can have in Springvale. I used it for camping coffee with big groups. It makes about a litre and uses half a 250g pack.

I found the quadlock ring I've been looking for since Easter. I thought it fell by a side table but it was in the pocket of some shorts, and it has only just gotten warm enough for shorts weather.
Unfortunately the phone I have the quadlock case for has the broken camera lenses and the one I'm currently using is so old I probably won't be able to find a quadlock case now

went to beach, took 45 minutes walking around the reserve to be relaxed enough to even start to hear the birds
but when I did they were wonderful :)
I like the little red capped plovers , the yellow robins and the wrens the best. Those wrens are so territorial and are constantly telling me to wrack off
so many dogs at the beach too , all very happy and having a great doggy time ( this is not a beach I would swim at, just sayin' )
