Eldest requested his favourite Ginger and Plum Sauce Chicken (or just called "sweet chicken" in our house). Served it with jasmine rice, was pretty tasty.

That sounds nice, do you have a particular recipe for this?

Yes I do, it's partly in my mother's handwriting but happy to share. I cook the vegetables first, put them aside, cook the chicken and then add the vegetables back in and then the sauce stuff. It's a weird recipe.
I've tweaked it a bit over the years and I simmer it a bit more than she did. I also add more ginger.

Woah! Thats cool, thanks! I can't believe how much plum jam is in it! I think i'll add a couple veges as well.

I used the cheapest plum jam and I think you need a lot because of the sesame oil being such a strong flavour. If you wanted to use less you could maybe reduce some of the vinegar and sesame oil 🤔 I've also tried commercial plum sauce instead of jam in the past, and it worked ok, but the kids didn't like it as much!

Hmm, thats an idea, plum sauce might be a little less sugary than the jam.

Lunch is going to be after errands Huevos Rotos: couple fried eggs over jamón serrano, padrón peppers and fries -and they throw a little black truffle on it...with some beer of course (then a good siesta)

Wtf! Thats sounds so nice.
I've just squeezed in some muesli and yoghurt while the smallest is down for a nap, after taking about an hour or so to feed the little monsters their lunch.

A continuation of easy meals week this week. Beananese on the left, Bolognese on the right, each stuffed full of veges and good stuff so the kids are eating healthy no matter which they choose.

For tea I will be creating a super dooper chicken caesar salad.
Change of plans. La Porchetta it is. Caesar salad tomorrow.
