Last night I had fed the dogs, showered, enjoyed a glass of wine and had settled into watching a movie. I got a text from a friend's son ( her about 65 him about 40 ) to ask if I could go check on her as she wasn't answering her phone. Her husband passed about 18 months ago so apart from two dogs and a duck she lives alone.
So I drove over there with my heart in my mouth. A great Dane and a husky greeted me. I've only met them a few times before and that was a fair while ago. So there I am calling her name and checking all the rooms while thinking that I'm going to find a corpse. The dogs or duck didn't attack me thankfully. They stayed right next to me the whole time.
Well I called the son to say no sign and that she's possibly out drinking. I asked him to let me know how it goes.
An hour later she called me, she had been drinking with the neighbours. He didn't call me. Nice.
Apart from that it's the bloody morning again. Enjoy your day (s)
