When I was about 10/12 my pop found a pair of shoes on a remote beach and gave them to me. I think they were the first pair of sneakers I owned. Now that I think about it, why the heck did my pop take those shoes even if they were dumped? Also, why can't I remember what I wore before these sneakers?
Anyway, one day a goanna came onto the deck of our wood cabin in the bush, took one of the sneakers and bolted to the top of a gumtree with it. I never got it back.
