Weekly Chat - 13th to the 19th March

A thread for discussing the wild, whacky and utterly mundane of life in our isolated corner of the planet.

At this rate the island will sink!

Hope the ferry rides not too troppy

Ferry was not great but Hillary's is never an amazing one.

About to head back now and it's packed... Did not realise that port to pub was on!

Weather was good enough for a snorkel

That looks so relaxing, too bad about how busy the ride home looks. But looks like a good day on the Island.

Don't forget if you have any books laying around you can always pop them in a local mini book library, is that what they call them? Helps declutter your house and their is always some reading fiend who has the same terrible taste in literature as you.

Street Library? Inknow the ones you mean, they're cool.

Is there an online map showing their locations? I don't think theres any in my area, but i haven't walked down all the streets.

Why yes, yes there is. Find street Libraries. Thank you for asking, I never knew.

Ask your Ingress / Pokemon Go friends. I know of two little libraries very close to me that aren't on this map.

Our turn to have egg shortages!

We go through two cartons a week in the house. This week, I went to Aldi, 2x Coles and 2x Woolies before I finally found some at IGA for $10.50/dozen (eep!). I had seen them at Spud Shed, but they were cage eggs and didn't grab them. At that point, I had only seen Aldi, and they are always a little hit-or-miss with egg supplies - I didn't think anything of it.

People may complain about our strict biosecurity arrangements in this State. I will never be one of them, the costs we minimise are such a strength.

I only hope the experience of this shot hole borer, and COVID have reinforced in Western Australian's minds the benefits we get from using our geography and strict biosecurity. I don't know though.
